Google's new designs

I don't know who is handling Google's new designs, but they are dead sexy in a certain way. They follow common web 2.0 concepts, but scraped them down even a bit further. The header is just grey, but it works. Minimalism at its finest, if I attempted to replicate it, it would never work out.

And the quotes keep coming

So, more web design quotes continue to poor in, and I have found that asking for a lower price tends to get you a lower price. The projects seems to have garnered some interest from designer's, seems like something they would like to add to their portfolio. For similar specs, from a similarly reputable company, I have receive quotes between 20k - 150k. The mystery that is web design.

In other news. I noticed a wide gulf between the two people I am trying to bring together online. I hope to be able to bring some antiquated business's to the future and connect them with young people.

Derailed by illness

So, had to slow down a little bit, lost a couple of days due to illness, but got a little more information. My understanding, to outsource my entire web design would potentially double my entire budget. I have gotten ballpark quotes that range from 60K to 140K. None of the people involved seem to have built exactly what I am looking for. I don't really understand how 150 hrs of design work + 150 hrs of programming work costs 100k. That's $300+ an hour. I am in the wrong line of work.

Looks like I'm launching a startup

So, I appear to be launching a startup. Today I reached out to some web designers to get an idea of how much money this thing is going to cost me. I also spent a bit of time working on my business model.

Draft is set

The draft is on Monday at 10PM. Be there or be square.

Oh, and if you are not there, Yahoo will pick your players, and they will probably do a half decent job, but you will end up with Sydney Rice and Vincent Jackson, who might not play this season.

New AppleTV rant

I know its mostly Fantasy Football players coming to this site, but I still wanted to comment on the new AppleTV.

As a old AppleTV owner, I could not be more annoyed. I bought my device for over twice the price only about a year ago, and Apple had nearly abandoned the product when it came to features.

Now they introduce a product for half the price, with less power, and they can't even bother to support the existing owner base with a web-app t enable Netflix?

There is no way on earth I will buy this thing.

Welcome Fantasy Football PLayers

Let me please direct your attention to the right hand column. Please pick any dates that work for you. Dont worry, my blog doesn't get many visitors.

By the way, the draf twill probably take about an hour. You may want to come and pick your top players, then leave.

If you are using some sort of cheat sheet. You can just rank the players that way, and Yahoo will then draft them that way.

iPad review, not so hot

I don't know ow the reviews on this thing have been so positive. I no have one in my house, and it hardly ever gets used, and when it does I find it very awkward and a hassle. My list of complaints is well beyond my writing ability. The picture below sums it up. Important facts, iPhone apps look like shit! Seriously, not really an option. Oh yeah, did I mention that almost all the available apps are programmed for the iphone, and anything good for the iPad is at least $5, and given that Steve Jobs advises that I should just return my Apple products when I don't like them, I question whether I should continue to invest in an ecosystem where a megalomaniac is at the helm. The iPad is purposely crippled to force people into owning a home computer, this is a fact.

If you consider yourself a semi-power user, do not buy an iPad. If you are old, and do not know how to work the computer you currently have, the iPad is for you.

The most relevant part of my entire post - This message does not come from my Apple iPad. Nuff said.

Holes near the belt in my shirt

I have found an amazing truth. I had searched the web for answers in the past, but had come up empty, with some people saying it was just the shirt rubbing up against my belt, but I think I have found the true answer.

OPENING UP BOTTLES WITH YOUR SHIRT. Like twist off beer bottles!

Boom, there it is!

Fancy New Parisian Apple Store

Apple opened a new store in paris, and they are wavering from their usual all glass style. I hope this is the beginning of the end.
